MTBF Chart Report
MTBF Chart Report
note
This module is designed to generate detailed MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) Chart Reports.
It helps users evaluate machine reliability and performance based on recorded failures across a selected time period.
1.1 Generate MTBF Chart Reports
1.1.1 Access the MTBF Chart Report Section
- Navigate to the main menu → Production and Quality
- Go to Reports → Info Graphics → MTBF-Chart-Reports
1.1.2 Understanding the Search Fields
All fields with a (*) are mandatory.
- From Month (Date Picker): Select the starting month for MTBF analysis
Example: July 2025 - To Month (Date Picker): Select the ending month for MTBF analysis
Example: August 2025 - Search Button: Generates the report for the selected period
- Clear Button: Resets all fields to default values
1.1.3 Field Validations
- Both From Month and To Month are mandatory
- If no data matches the selected range, the system displays:
“No Data Available” - If not specified, the system defaults to the current month
1.1.4 Start Generating the Report
- Select the date range (From Month – To Month)
- Click Search to display the chart
The report shows:
- Green Line: Actual MTBF values (in days)
- Red Line: Target MTBF value for comparison
- Hover over data points to view exact MTBF values per machine
1.1.5 No Data Found Warning
If no records are available, the following message appears:
No Data Available
Warning!
Recommended Actions:
- Verify the selected date range
- Try a broader time period
- Ensure machine failure data is recorded for the given months
1.1.6 How MTBF Is Calculated
Definition:
MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) measures the average operating time between breakdowns.
Formula:
Examples:
- Machine ran 120 hours with 30 failures → MTBF = 120 ÷ 30 = 4 hours
- Machine ran 600 hours with 50 failures → MTBF = 600 ÷ 50 = 12 hours
1.1.7 Verify MTBF Data
To validate accuracy, cross-check with maintenance logs:
- Navigate to Maintenance Reports
- Select the same date range used in MTBF Chart Report
- Export data to Excel for detailed analysis
- Compare operating hours and recorded failures against MTBF calculation
1.1.8 Save or Share the Chart
- Take a screenshot or use the browser’s Save as Image option
- Include the MTBF Mean Average (shown top-right in chart) in reports or presentations
- Charts can be used for machine reliability reviews and maintenance planning
